186 Visa: Employer Nomination Visa (Subclass 186 ENS)
The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) 186 visa provides permanent residency to skilled workers and their eligible family members.
Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) Stream
You may be eligible for permanent residency through the TRT stream if:
- You have worked with the same sponsor on a 482 visa for at least 2 years
- You have worked in the same occupation during those 2 years
- You meet the English requirement (minimum IELTS score of 6.0 in each band or equivalent), unless exempt
- You meet the TSMIT of $73,150 + superannuation for a full-time 38-hour week, or a higher amount if required for your occupation
- You are under 45 years of age at the time of PR application
- You are nominated by your current 482 sponsor (you cannot apply independently)
Direct Entry Stream
This stream allows eligible applicants to apply directly for permanent residency.
Requirements include:
- You may apply from onshore or offshore
- You must be under 45 years of age
- You must have Competent English
- You must receive a skills assessment and meet work experience requirements
- Only occupations on the MLTSSL list are eligible
- Suitable for applicants holding visas like Working Holiday (417), Work and Holiday (462), or Student visas
